The 17th Century: the palace - a place of power

The first floor is accessible by the grand staircase, restored to its original function and adorned by an 18th Century wrought iron balustrade. It leads to the formal rooms of the palace and opens ontoo a room dedicated to the 17th Century, where landscapes and genre paintings by the Northern Schools (Teniers, Van Artois, Tilborg...) meet sacred art by the French School (Champaigne, Bourdon, La Hyre...)

Large windows offer unusual views of the cathedral.
