The 18th Century : a new world in the making

The Bishops' former private apartments, dating from the 18th Century consist of three adjacent large salons.

The first room has been entirely reconstructed to restore its original dimensions and house the collections from the late Ancien Régime. These are a testimony to the emergence of a revolutionary Bourgeoisie and talents of regional origin, who gained national renown. Decorated in the Louis XVI style, the room highlights this particular aspect of artistic creation, illustrated by the easel paintings by Pierre-François Delauney (1759-1789).
