Memory of the World register
The inclusion of the Bayeux Tapestry on the Memory of the World register reflects the recognition by UNESCO of the Tapestry’s international and universal value.
The international Memory of the World register is a programme devoted to the safeguarding of documentary heritage. Aside the Bayeux Tapestry, are also listed the Gutenberg Bible and the appeal of 18th June 1940 by General de Gaulle.
